Short, friendly workshops repeating throughout the day — perfect for learning everyday coat-care tips from experienced owners & groomers.
Topics include:
- Grooming Tools – brushes, combs, rakes: what to use and when
- Grooming Equipment – tables, dryers, safety gear & maintenance
- Nail Trimming – calm techniques for at-home care
- Bathing – products, water temp, rinse tips for double coats
- Blow Drying – safe air flow, drying order, avoiding hot spots
- Brushing – daily vs deep brushing and undercoat care

- Please arrive 10 minutes early to select props and check in
- Dogs must be on lead indoors and outdoors at all times
- Indoors (rain or shine); venue is accessible & pram-friendly
- Multiple dogs welcome; book two adjacent sessions for larger groups
- Edited images delivered digitally after the event via your confirmation email
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between a Santa session and the Entry Pass?
The Santa Session is a timed, professional photo experience with Santa and a photographer, including both RAW and edited digital images. It also gives you full access to everything included in the Entry Pass.
The $10 Entry Pass is for those who want to enjoy the social side of the event — the Samoyed lawn area, free beach-themed photobooths, and grooming mini-segments throughout the day — but does not include access to the Santa photobooth.
What’s included in the Entry Pass?
Access to the lawn social, free beach-themed photobooths by UNSW Photo Club, and all grooming mini-segments.
You can also shop for NSW Samoyed Club merch, buy $5 Polaroid prints, enjoy the sausage sizzle, and even hire one of our Samoyed Santa Helpers for your photos!
Can I hire a Samoyed if I don’t have one?
Yes! Our adorable Samoyed Santa Helpers will be available for hire at $5 per dog. They’re friendly, well-trained, and accompanied by their handlers at all times. It’s the perfect way to get that signature Samoyed smile in your photos even if you don’t have your own floof.
Do I need to pay for an Entry Pass if I’ve booked a Santa session?
No – your Santa booking includes event entry and access to the social areas and talks.
Can I come without a dog?
Absolutely! Many people come just to enjoy the festive atmosphere, grooming demos, and adorable Samoyeds — and you can still get photos with a Samoyed Santa Helper.
Will there be food and drinks?
Yes – we’ll have a sausage sizzle and refreshments available throughout the day.
Can I buy merch at the event?
Yes! Pick up exclusive NSW Samoyed Club merchandise — perfect Christmas gifts for dog lovers.
What are the Polaroid prints?
Instant mini prints of your favourite photos for just $5 each — bring a photo from your phone to print on the spot!
Do I need to book for the photobooths or grooming sessions?
No booking needed – they’re open all day for Entry Pass and Santa attendees.
Where is the event?
UNSW John Goodsell Building (Rooms LG19 & LG21) – free onsite parking and indoor venue (weather-proof).
When will I receive my Santa photos?
Edited digital copies will be emailed after the event along with links to download all RAW files.
